Everything you need to know about health and well-being support at Vanderbilt (1)The Student Care Network offers robust health and well-being resources for Vanderbilt students.* The primary offices of the Student Care Network are Student Care Coordination, the Center for Student Wellbeing, the University Counseling Center and the Student Health Center.

*Students eligible for SCN services are those who have been assessed and paid the student health fee.

Student Care Coordination

Student Care Coordination can be your first and central point of contact for identifying wellness needs and determining the most appropriate resources. Student care coordinators collaborate with you to develop a success plan, share education about and facilitate connections to appropriate on- and off-campus resources, and provide accountability through supportive follow-up meetings. Complete an intake form and schedule an appointment or attend a Drop-In Care Coordination session to get started. The drop-in schedule is on the SCC website.

University Counseling Center

The University Counseling Center provides counseling, medication management and assessment support. Drop-In Consultations are available as a quick way to informally connect with a therapist without an appointment. The UCC also offers group therapy and workshops that provide supportive and affirming spaces for students to discuss challenges and build connections.

Center for Student Wellbeing

The Center for Student Wellbeing hosts a variety of well-being programming to support personal development and academic success. The CSW also offers Weekly Wellbeing Practices, recovery support services and individual coaching.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center serves the primary care needs of eligible students. There are no office co-pays for routine visits. Whether you are sick or injured, managing a chronic health problem or working to develop a healthier lifestyle, the SHC is here to help.

Satellite Services

Satellite services are offered by the Student Care Network and other offices across campus. These services provide a quick and convenient way to consult on a current concern, explore support options and establish connections with staff members. View the current schedule for available satellite services.

Self-Directed Tools and Telehealth

It’s not always possible or convenient to meet with on-campus support staff. To ensure that you have support anywhere at any time, Vanderbilt provides a variety of resources to supplement SCN services.

  • Vanderbilt Telehealth: Telehealth for counseling and psychiatry services is provided on the Academic Live Care platform through Aug. 31, 2024, for people who are currently using services. Staring Aug. 19, new and existing telehealth clients can use Vanderbilt Telehealth on the Mantra Health platform. More information is available at this link.
  • Headspace Mindfulness App: Vanderbilt has arranged for students to have free access to Headspace—an award-winning, research-backed digital tool for mindful living. Headspace has been shown to reduce stress, improve focus and increase resilience and happiness. Enroll in Vanderbilt’s Headspace program.
  • Welltrack Connect: Welltrack Connect is a therapy database that can help students find therapy providers off-campus. Students can create a free account using their Vanderbilt email address and search providers in Nashville or another state. Students can use filters to search by insurance provider, gender identity, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, religion, language and several other factors to find their best match. Providers can also be filtered by colleges they serve, where those listed as serving the Vanderbilt community have been invited to join by Student Care Coordination.
  • To sign up, visit Welltrack Connect, select “Student” and use your Vanderbilt email address to create a username and password. Agree to the Terms of Use and “Sign Up.” You’ll receive a confirmation email, which you’ll need to follow to finish the process. Then you can search the tailored directory of providers who specialize in student mental health.

You can check out other resources on the SCN’s Self-Directed Tools page.
